Are you entitled to free central heating?
In order to be entitled to free central heating, you must either be the homeowner or a tenant in a privately rented home. If you rent your property, your landlord must give permission for your central heating to be installed.
If you don’t have any heating in your home at all, or you have: gas or electric room heaters; a gas or solid fuel fire with a back boiler; electric underfloor or ceiling heating; solid fossil fuel, wood/biomass, or oil room heating; or bottled LPG heating, you may be entitled to have a new central heating system, which provides heating via the boiler and radiators.

How much does it cost to install central heating?
The amount you could save from receiving your free central heating installation depends on several factors, including:
- Whether you are entitled to receive a new boiler
- How many rooms are in your house
- The size of your home
- Whether you need free loft or cavity wall insulation.
If you are entitled to a new boiler, insulation and central heating system, the combined total of your grants will be significant. What’s more, by installing an efficient boiler, effective insulation and central heating, you will dramatically reduce your energy bills.
